Affordable X-ray imaging is available to all Plexus Health patients and can be performed at our Kershaw location. X-ray technology is used to produce images of the structures inside your body and is a quick, painless test that can help a provider determine the course of your care. There are many reasons a provider may order an X-ray, such as detecting a broken bone, determining the source of pain, to monitor the progress of a disease that has been diagnosed, or on the efficacy of prescribed treatment. Some patients worry if X-rays are safe. However, radiation exposure from an X-ray is low, and the benefits from these tests far outweigh the risks. Once the X-ray is performed by our certified technologist, your image is securely sent immediately to a radiologist for interpretation, which reduces the wait time for a diagnosis and possible treatment.
